Meet the Teachers
Karen Heritage, MA, BA (HONS), FBATD
Karen has been a qualified teacher for more than 30 years teaching tap, modern dance, ballet, jazz, acro-gymnastics, freestyle, dance drama and dance exercise.She has a First Class Honours Degree in Performance and Event Production, a Post Graduate Certificate in Safe Dance Practice, a Masterâ€™s Degree with Distinction in Dance and is a Life Member and Fellow of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing. She teaches students from 18 months to over 80 years in her own studios in Stockton in all genres of dance and drama. She is also a freelance choreographer and a specialist teacher for Earthbeat Theatre Company working with adults with learning difficulties.
Professional credits include The Big Stage with Bradley Walsh for Channel 5 TV, The Lido, Paris, as well as many acting roles in various plays and shows in the North East.Â Karen works as choreographer for the Forum Theatre pantomimes.
Wayne is from the North East and is a full-time Secondary School music teacher. He has been involved with drama and music all of his life and is an accomplished actor and musician. He regularly works with many local drama and operatic societies as Director, Producer and Musical Director (and quite often as an actor too). Wayne has considerable experience in all aspects of theatrical performance and brings a great wealth of knowledge and expertise to our School of Performing Arts.
